Military surplus consists of items that the United States military sells off for
various reasons such as............
- Items that are past their shelf life. Every item the military has is
given a shelf life, once an item has been kept for that amount of time it is
sold off regardless of condition.
- Items that are discontinued or outdated. The military is always looking
for newer, more effective items, therefore items are continuously
discontinued by the military and sold off.
- Item that are used and are deemed to be "unserviceable" by the military
are the most common.
While most military items are used, the majority of them have lots of life
left. While they may not be new they are generally good for civilian use. They
offer a great value on a high quality item, great for camping, scouting,
hunting, fishing and casual outdoor use.
